Chipton-Ross is seeking a Microelectronics Laser Welding Specialist for a contract opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
As a specialist in laser welding, you will be responsible for:
- Executing laser welding processes for microelectronic assemblies to establish hermetic seals.
- Utilizing automated machinery, conducting leak tests, and operating vacuum ovens and thermal chambers.
- Engaging with mechanical presses, inert gas mixture gloveboxes, and solder vacuum furnaces.
- Troubleshooting assemblies that fail leak checks and performing various microelectronic assembly tasks.
Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience with laser welding equipment for hermetic sealing.
- Proficiency in working under a microscope for extended durations.
- The ability to interpret and work from detailed process documentation and schematics.
- Computer skills for accessing drawings, work instructions, and other job-related activities.
- Experience with hand tools such as torque drivers and tweezers.
- Strong dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- The capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will also have:
- Experience working in a collaborative team setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Familiarity with J-STD-001 standards.
- Experience in ESD and FOD-controlled environments.
- Background in mechanical assembly processes for small electronic devices.
- Experience with military products in ISO 9001 / AS9100 controlled settings.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a 4/10 work schedule on the first shift.
