Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Operations Manager to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our hospitality operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of events and functions, providing exceptional customer service, and leading a team of event coordinators and service staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify meeting and event rooms/space are set according to event documentation and customer requirements.
  • Lead shifts and actively participate in the servicing of events, ensuring high-quality service and attention to detail.
  • Adhere to and reinforce all standards, policies, and procedures, including Core Deliverables, SOPs, and LSOPs.
  • Assist in maintaining the inventory of function room amenities and other controllable supplies.
  • Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings, including Daily Stand Up, BEO, Staff, Forecast, Department, and Intradepartmental meetings.
  • Communicate critical information to the Banquet, Event Services, and Event Technology teams.
  • Conduct room function inspections prior to each event to ensure the room is set according to specifications.
  • Delegate tasks to ensure room sets are "on time" and meet Event Management Standards.
  • Verify employee awareness of the event phase portion of the Event Satisfaction Survey and Guest Satisfaction Scores.
  • Maintain attendance log for Banquet, Event Service, and Event Technology employees.
  • Manage departmental inventories and assets, including par levels and maintenance of equipment.
  • Order supplies for the department, including china, glass, silver, buffet equipment, and other service equipment needs.
  • Schedule Banquet and Event Service staff to forecast and service standards, while maximizing profits.
  • Utilize banquet beverage tools to guide banquet beverage supervisor in controlling liquor costs, managing the banquet beverage perpetual inventory, and requisitioning liquor.
  • Practice and execute brand-specific meeting services program per Brand Standard.
  • Assist with the Event Technology/Audio Visual team when necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work with Event Planning team to verify flawless delivery of events.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
  • OR
  • At least 3 years of experience in two of the following areas of hospitality: food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area.
  • Preferred experience running a shift, scheduling, Performance Manage PAF's, Problem Solving, Running Day-to-Day Operation, Hospitality Skills.
