Role Overview
This position is integral to our Lunar Transportation division, where we are developing sustainable infrastructure for transporting crew and cargo to the Lunar Surface.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, development, and testing of Environmental Control and Life Support (ECLS) hardware essential for human habitation in space.
- Creating and maintaining detailed engineering drawings and documentation in compliance with industry standards.
- Overseeing a team of designers within the ECLS integrated product team, ensuring adherence to best practices and design processes.
- Utilizing CAD tools, specifically Creo and Windchill, to develop design solutions from initial concepts to manufacturing readiness.
- Conducting design iterations using rapid prototyping techniques for mechanical and fluid systems.
- Mentoring junior designers and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- A minimum of five years of senior design experience.
- Proficiency in CREO and Windchill software.
- Experience leading small technical teams.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency.
Preferred Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have:
- Experience with Blue Origin's processes.
- Background in crewed spaceflight programs.
- Knowledge of ECLS systems and aerospace secondary structures.
