Position Overview:
As a General Manager in Training, you will engage in a hands-on program designed to enhance your supervisory skills, business knowledge, and overall capability to independently manage a restaurant operation. During your tenure as a GMIT, you will be expected to learn and excel in various competency-based leadership and operational skills, including but not limited to: Prioritizing Customer Satisfaction, Adapting to Change, Encouraging Teamwork, Achieving Goals, and Personal & Team Development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Management Team and Team Members to ensure our guests enjoy unforgettable experiences.
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences and mentor other Managers on how to assist the General Manager with recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance assessments of Team Members and Supervisors.
  • Ensure that team members and the Management team receive proper training utilizing CAVA resources.
  • Provide ongoing performance feedback and recognition to Team Members.
  • Assist and learn from the General Manager in executing administrative tasks, including P&L management, budgeting, and cost control concerning food, beverage, and labor objectives.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to coach and develop team members.
  • Be prepared to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Assist with any additional responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend and reach overhead frequently.
  • Dexterity to handle kitchen tools, pots, pans, and other equipment.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work near open flames.
  • May need to work in confined spaces.
  • Maintain near constant communication with multiple individuals.
  • Close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision are essential.
  • Ability to sit, squat, and kneel occasionally.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Occasional outdoor work may be required.
