Job Summary

The Westminster Schools is seeking a qualified Instructor to join our After School Kids Program team. As an Instructor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, while also participating in and initiating activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Ensure Student Safety: Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Implement and Participate in Activities: Implement and participate in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth, including initiating play with children.
  • Assist with Classroom and Playground Maintenance: Assist with the organization and maintenance of classroom and playground materials.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings and Training: Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and required training.
  • Develop Responsibility and Positive Leadership: Assist children in developing responsibility for program materials, personal belongings, and personal hygiene habits, and provide positive leadership by leading study hall in a quiet, orderly fashion.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Childcare Experience: Childcare experience preferred.
  • Commitment to Respect and Development: Commitment to a culture of respect and personnel development.
  • Flexibility and Initiative: Flexible with the willingness to use initiative and handle extra duties as needed.
  • Strong Customer Service and Commitment: Strong and prevailing sense of customer service and commitment to the school's mission.
  • Effective Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and represent the school with professionalism and enthusiasm to a broad constituency.
  • Skills in Reading and Interpreting Documents: Skills in reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Outstanding Organizational and Prioritization Skills: Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills, with great attention to detail and initiative in problem-solving.
  • Self-Motivated and Professional Demeanor: Self-motivated with a professional demeanor and presence, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
