Position Overview

The Aquatic Program Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Head Counselor, Camp Director, and Executive Director. This position is vital for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all campers and staff during aquatic activities.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the physical and emotional well-being of campers and staff.
  • Serving as a positive role model for all staff members.
  • Directly supervising the Summer Camp Staff.
  • Assisting in the facilitation of activities during Staff Training.
  • Acting as a liaison between the Head Counselor, Summer Camp Staff, and Camp Director.
  • Collaborating with the Head Counselor and Activities Director to coordinate waterfront scheduling and logistical requirements.
  • Presenting a comprehensive waterfront activity plan and Emergency Action Plan to staff prior to camp.
  • Ensuring adequate supervision for each activity.
  • Supporting various waterfront activity areas.
  • Maintaining an inventory of all equipment and supplies for the waterfront area.
  • Communicating equipment and supply needs to the Camp Director.
  • Facilitating staff activity assignments in conjunction with the Head Counselor and Camp Director.
  • Assisting with camper check-in procedures.
  • Exemplifying a positive Christian role model for all campers.

The Aquatic Program Manager may also assist in cabin duties to cover any gaps in counselor coverage. This role requires a high degree of flexibility and responsibility. It is a rewarding position that demands energy, a passion for working with children, and a servant's heart. Additional duties may be assigned by the Camp Director.
