Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Benefit Programs Supervisor to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a key member of our social services team, you will be responsible for providing administrative and programmatic supervision to staff, reviewing case management plans, and developing written guidelines for the delivery of case management services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and programmatic supervision to staff
  • Review case management plans to ensure quality assurance of case management services
  • Develop written guidelines for the delivery of case management services
  • Assign caseloads to staff and coordinate and monitor their activities
  • Hold individual and group conferences to review cases and problems
  • Review case records and evaluate the performance of staff members, recommending indicated action
  • Represent staff needs to senior management and prepare and implement internal operating policies and procedures
  • Interpret regulations, policies, and other program information changes to staff and train new employees in areas such as agency policy, department procedures, and agency or government regulations
  • Determine staffing needs and make recommendations to management
  • Maintain records and prepare regular and special reports
  • Participate in developing and implementing agency administrative policy
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, sociology, psychology, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of four years of related, full-time equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge of the Families and Children Medicaid, Aged Blind and Disabled Medicaid (ABD), and SNAP programs
  • Experience using the Rushmore Monitoring system, monitoring SNAP Apptrack, and experience with the TANF program
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five to seven years of current Virginia Benefit Programs supervision
  • Two years of experience with VaCMS and direct customer service experience
Working Conditions

Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
