Position Overview:

The role involves overseeing process evaluation activities and executing machinery capability assessments. Responsibilities include the creation, modification, and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Instructions (JIs) as necessary. The individual will provide training to operators, leads, supervisors, and other staff on new machinery, JIs, and SOPs. Additionally, the role encompasses leading production troubleshooting efforts, identifying issues, and implementing effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and implement continuous improvements in product and process efficiency.
  • Explore and develop innovative proprietary solutions that lead to cost savings.
  • Lead or support Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) or Design of Experiments (DOE) initiatives.
  • Review formulations, Master Batch Records (MBR), batch documentation, protocols, change controls, and other process instructions to ensure capability and capacity.
  • Generate Process Qualification Protocols (PQs) and conduct Process Qualifications.
  • Collaborate closely with Research & Development and Engineering teams on equipment selection.
  • Conduct Installation Qualifications (IQ) and Operational Qualifications (OQ) as part of the process validation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all projects and assignments.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and operate safely.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline, along with a minimum of five years of engineering experience in an industrial context. Alternatively, a combination of experience, education, and training that equips the candidate with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role will be considered. Project management experience is highly advantageous.

Skills:
  • Exceptional root-cause analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in developing formulation/process models and resolving complex challenges.
  • In-depth knowledge of company safety standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOPs, and OSHA regulations.
  • Understanding of nutritional ingredients, product formulations, and their claims.
  • Comprehensive grasp of manufacturing, regulatory, supply chain, and business implications related to formulation decisions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and lead in a cross-functional team setting.
