Compensation: $18.00 per hour
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for overseeing the stock of all machinery and facility components. Utilizing the Upkeep CMMS system, this role ensures timely updates on required parts. The specialist maintains a structured process for the delivery of parts to maintenance and facilities personnel, ensuring that inventory is accurately recorded on a daily basis. Additionally, the specialist communicates with the purchasing agent regarding necessary replenishments and maintains a tidy workspace by organizing and removing any unnecessary items.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly update inventory records within the MP2 system.
- Conduct daily cycle counts of parts.
- Document updates in the CMMS system post cycle counting.
- Receive and verify parts in the MP2 system.
- Establish an organized layout for parts storage.
- Control access to the parts room to authorized personnel only.
- Inspect received parts for accuracy.
- Coordinate repairs for parts as needed.
- Properly store parts following established procedures.
- Eliminate obsolete parts from inventory.
- Monitor backorders and collaborate with the purchasing agent.
- Dedicate 50% of work time to facilities maintenance tasks.
- Perform inspections on boilers, compressors, and refrigeration units.
- Be available for weekend shifts as required.
Performance Expectations:
• Full-time position; schedule may vary based on departmental needs, with potential for overtime as approved by the Maintenance Manager.
• Physical requirements include the ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, along with significant sitting, standing, and walking.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures is mandatory.
• General mechanical and electrical knowledge, as well as familiarity with inventory control practices, is required.
• Ability to recognize various types of parts and their applications.
• Proficiency in computer systems for managing inventory.
• Knowledge of measuring tools such as micrometers, tape measures, and calipers.
• Awareness of occupational hazards and safety measures relevant to the role.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement.
• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary by the department.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in planning, scheduling, and inventory management is necessary.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills are essential.
- General knowledge of manufacturing equipment is preferred.
- Experience in shipping and receiving is advantageous.
• Familiarity with MP2 or similar computerized inventory management systems is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential.
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, procedures, diagrams, and operations manuals is beneficial.
