We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Sonic Healthcare USA. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in the patient care process by performing moderate and high complexity testing, analyzing and reviewing results, and implementing effective solutions when necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a vital part of the patient care process through moderate and high complexity testing
- Analyze, review, and report testing results
- Recognize when corrective action is needed and implement effective solutions
- Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control
- High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an AMA-approved Medical Laboratory training program to qualify as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
- Or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent preferred and completion of an AMA-approved program of Medical Technology to qualify as a Medical Technologist (MT)
- Current TN licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT)
- Certification or eligible by ASCP or equivalent
- 6 months of laboratory training or experience
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to operate general laboratory equipment
