About the Role

Gastro Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Relations Representative to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in ensuring exceptional patient experiences and building strong relationships with our patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answering and Routing Calls: Respond to all incoming calls, route them to the appropriate personnel, and take messages as necessary.
  • Scheduling and Confirming Appointments: Schedule, confirm, and cancel office appointments as patients call in.
  • Referral and Demographic Management: Work on referrals, import demographics from patient portals, and verify patient health plan benefits.
  • Message Management: Pick up voicemail messages on a daily basis and send tasks as necessary.
  • Authorization and Benefits Verification: Verify patients' health plan benefits and obtain authorization, if needed.
  • Patient Support and Education: Assist patients with questions and concerns regarding procedures, request medical records from doctors and hospitals, and call-in new prescriptions and refills.
  • Lab Results and Stat Requests: Obtain lab results, including stat requests, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Education: A high school degree or GED is required for this position.
  • Experience: One year of experience in customer service and/or a related clinical environment, with a working knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Skills: Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Call Center Representative or Receptionist experience, medical terminology knowledge, and bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
