School Social Worker LCSW Early Elementary Specialist

Job Summary:The School Social Worker LCSW Early Elementary will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide input in the development of the IHP/IEP for students requiring social work intervention and support in the school setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Establishes a set of rules and procedures that are appropriate for a therapeutic setting and are within the parameters of the full instructional program.
- Designs and develops individualized service plans that are based on the IEP and supports the curriculum using diagnostic information from various assessments and assessment processes.
- Uses available and appropriate resources as a bridge to the instructional program.
- Effectively transitions students from therapy to classroom and classroom to therapy.
- Plans in collaboration with the educational team for the prevention and intervention of inappropriate behaviors, while maintaining the dignity of the student.
- Engages students in providing positive feedback using effective reinforcement techniques.
- Interacts effectively with students, family members, educational team members, and professionals outside the organization.
- Knowledgeable about general development and the impact of the disability on the student and their family.
- Utilizes community, state, and national resources where necessary to promote the safety and welfare of students.
- Collaborates with all assigned students and educational support staff as well as any assigned student teachers, interns, and volunteers working in the school for the welfare and safety of all students while in the classroom, on school grounds, during before and after-school activities.
- Adheres to Amergis and District policies and procedures.
- Holds a Professional Educator License with School Social Worker (SSW) endorsement as required by state, contract, and/or facility.
- May be required to have MSW or LCSW per state, contract, or facility.
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable.
- Current CPR if applicable.
- TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required.
- Computer proficiency required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
