Position Overview:

ABOUT THE ROLE

VHB is on the lookout for a Lead Aviation Project Planner with extensive experience in airport development initiatives to enhance our Aviation team.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a skilled, collaborative, and innovative thinker who is passionate about the aviation sector and airport operations, aiming to cultivate a rewarding career in Aviation Planning with a nationally recognized firm. This position offers avenues for professional advancement and leadership through engaging and impactful projects for a diverse range of aviation clients and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project management for intricate airport planning studies.
  • Conduct research, analysis, and the formulation of aviation planning documentation, including but not limited to:
    • Airport Layout Plans (ALPs)
    • Airside planning assessments and designs (gate and parking configurations)
    • Comprehensive master planning
    • Terminal planning (management of redevelopment initiatives and specific task orders)
  • Support aviation leadership in business development and provide specialized technical knowledge.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Planning or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in Aviation Planning projects (master plans, design documentation, airside/airspace evaluations, airport facility planning).
  • Proven experience in monitoring project scope, timelines, and budgets for task orders.
  • Ability to collaborate with other VHB service lines to position for projects at significant airports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience collaborating with FAA and State/local agencies.
  • Certifications such as AAAE CM or other planning-related credentials.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Background in business development and proposal writing.
  • Capability to deliver technical innovation and provide exceptional value to our aviation clientele.
  • Active participation in the Aviation industry as a thought leader and involvement in service organizations.
  • Engagement in developing aviation business opportunities nationwide.
  • Experience mentoring aviation planning personnel.
  • Two or more years of experience in Airport Master Planning.

Our estimated salary range for this position is competitive and will be determined based on various factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
