Position Overview
The selected candidate will act as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist within the National Airspace System (NAS). This role necessitates an IT Specialist with expertise in the design, development, and execution of testing and evaluation protocols for intricate air traffic management systems.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting software system evaluations utilizing established techniques, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Assisting in the enhancement of automated processes and information management systems.
  • Contributing to the creation of management and technical documentation.
  • Supporting the design, development, and execution of complex independent and interdependent testing and evaluation programs.

Testing and Evaluation
The incumbent will work to define and develop testing criteria and requirements in alignment with FAA Verification and Validation (V&V) standards. This includes:
  • Preparing and reviewing test plans and procedures.
  • Creating Verification Requirements Traceability Matrices (VRTM).

Data Analysis
Analyzing data to discern trends or correlations among variables. The role also involves:
  • Investigating and diagnosing complex issues or system failures related to aviation automation systems.
  • Recommending solutions to address identified problems.

System Design and Integration
Engaging in the design and integration of new systems while providing support in the development and implementation of hardware and software solutions.

Project Management
Assisting in the formulation of program and project plans in accordance with FAA's Acquisition Management System, including:
  • Requirements documentation.
  • Cost-benefit analyses.

May also serve as a Control Account Manager or Contract Officer's Representative.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12. Specialized experience includes:
  • Applying Verification & Validation principles to develop test planning artifacts leading to successful test executions for aviation systems.
