Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Traffic Engineer/Transportation Planner to join our team. As a key member of our transportation practice, you will contribute to the development of innovative transportation solutions. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality projects that meet the needs of our clients and the community.

Responsibilities

  • Provide traffic planning, design, and engineering services to support project development.
  • Conduct studies to address multi-modal transportation issues, including vehicular traffic, public transportation, pedestrian flow, street user safety, and parking.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform transportation planning decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including planners, engineers, and scientists, to deliver comprehensive project solutions.
  • Prepare written and presentation materials to communicate project findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in professional organizations to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.

Requirements

  • 0-4 years of experience in traffic engineering and/or planning.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or transportation.
  • E.I.T. Certification or Professional Engineer registration or ability to obtain such.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; GIS and/or CAD (AutoCAD, Microstation).
  • Experience with traffic analysis software (i.e. Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, etc.) a plus.
  • Familiarity with the City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR) process.
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.
