Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Demonstrate hands-on capability in fabrication techniques, including machining, sheet metal, welding, and additive manufacturing

  • Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) for all designs
  • Design for manufacturing and serviceability to ensure efficient production and maintenance
  • Apply mechanical troubleshooting skills for repair and improvement of existing systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
  • Assist in business development by contributing to proposal writing
  • Lead product commercialization efforts, ensuring successful transition from design to production while meeting quality, cost, and timeline targets
  • Draft user and service manuals to facilitate efficient and effective use of our products
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and partners
  • Coordinate with 3rd party machining and AM shops

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years relevant experience
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and schematic design
  • Strong fabrication skills
  • Excellent aesthetic sense with an eye for detail
  • Experience or interest in robotics and additive manufacturing
  • Ability to travel to shows and customer sites as required
  • Familiarity with BOM creation and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of design for manufacturing principles
  • Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
