Position Overview

The Head of Meat Marketing Strategy is tasked with spearheading the formulation and implementation of strategic marketing plans aimed at boosting sales, enhancing brand image, and cultivating customer loyalty within both B2B and D2C sectors across diverse channels. This position demands extensive knowledge of the food sector, including insights into market dynamics, digital marketing, ecommerce, paid media, and sales support content tailored for BBQ aficionados, butcher establishments, meat retailers, and processors of all scales.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing Leadership:

  • Formulate and execute comprehensive B2B marketing strategies to expand market presence, elevate brand recognition, and stimulate sales of PS Seasoning products within the meat sector.
  • Design and implement marketing initiatives for Pro Smoker offerings, encompassing both consumer and commercial meat smoking devices, dry agers, and accessories.
  • Develop and execute robust retail marketing strategies to enhance brand visibility, market penetration, and sales growth across various platforms, including the company website, Amazon, and Webstaurant.
  • Identify significant market opportunities and devise plans to leverage them, including product launches, promotional activities, and seasonal marketing campaigns.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor movements, and customer feedback to guide strategic marketing decisions.
  • Create a sales enablement marketing strategy and content roadmap in collaboration with the sales leadership to enhance customer experiences and boost sales initiatives.
  • Oversee digital marketing efforts, including agency collaboration, paid media planning and execution, paid search, and search engine optimization.
  • Manage email and print marketing campaigns to foster customer engagement and retention.
  • Plan and execute promotional activities, social media content marketing, and ambassador initiatives.
  • Coordinate paid sponsorships and chef collaborations to bolster brand credibility and customer product knowledge.
  • Organize and engage in trade exhibitions to showcase products, enhance sales, and build industry connections.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and inform data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team to integrate consumer insights into product development and marketing strategies.
  • Work closely with sales, product development, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure cohesive marketing efforts and product availability.

Brand Management:

  • Oversee the positioning, messaging, and branding of the company's products to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Maintain brand guidelines that reflect the company's ethos and resonate with target demographics.
  • Supervise the development and execution of brand positioning and messaging across relevant channels.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to align marketing strategies with product offerings.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and oversee the marketing budget, ensuring alignment with overarching business goals and financial targets.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize performance and budget efficiency.
  • Partner with the finance team to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of marketing expenditures and return on investment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity within the meat industry or a closely related food sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of the food industry, including market trends, consumer behavior, and regulatory considerations.
  • Proven success in developing and executing effective B2B and D2C marketing strategies.
  • Expertise in paid media planning and execution, paid search, and SEO.
  • Demonstrated success in ecommerce.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in managing marketing budgets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and data analytics platforms; experience with Shopify management is a plus.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • A blend of creativity and strong execution skills.
