The firm also manages a variety of traditional civil engineering projects across the area.

Position Summary:

The Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager/Office Manager (Sr PM) will oversee a diverse range of projects, including commercial, industrial, and municipal undertakings, while occasionally taking charge of civil design initiatives. The primary objective is to ensure client satisfaction while adhering to the firm's core values. The ideal candidate will manage projects with minimal supervision, utilizing available staff and resources to deliver top-notch services. Responsibilities include overseeing project development from initial design through to construction completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor junior staff to achieve project goals.
  • Engage regularly with clients, stakeholders, and external parties to maintain strong relationships.
  • Support project objectives by coordinating with the Assistant Project Manager and Project Manager to allocate resources effectively.
  • Participate in team meetings to align project execution with the firm's values.
  • Establish and manage project budgets to prevent overruns.
  • Maintain consistent communication with clients.
  • Promote the firm's services in line with the marketing strategy.
  • Prepare project proposals and contracts for management review.
  • Review financial documents to ensure adherence to budgetary commitments.
  • Set project completion timelines and delegate scheduling tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to project schedules as per company protocols.
  • Communicate project opportunities to leadership for timely resolution.
  • Supervise project staff directly.
  • Engage in continuous learning and apply insights from past projects.
  • Support the project team in achieving objectives and enhancing management processes.
  • Provide mentorship to develop the next generation of project staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and relevant design software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction materials and methods.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations pertaining to assigned projects.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to balance creativity with analytical thinking.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is required, with a preference for Civil Engineering specialization.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with 10+ years preferred.
  • Completion of over 10 projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience working with local government entities regarding design and permitting.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
  • Willingness to travel to various project sites.
  • Ability to navigate job sites and construction areas.
