Key Responsibilities
  • Greet each guest within 30 seconds of their arrival.
  • Verify the age of guests to ensure compliance with alcohol purchase regulations.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings, menus, and current promotions.
  • Engage with guests using clear, enthusiastic communication and body language, ensuring they feel valued.
  • Collaborate with team members to foster a positive environment and streamline food and beverage service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the bar, adhering to Georgia Blue's standards.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, as well as any necessary side tasks during your shift.
  • Ensure all bar glassware is cleaned and replenished throughout the shift.
  • Reset tables in the bar area promptly.
  • Prepare, garnish, and serve both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to Georgia Blue's standard recipes.
  • Input drink orders into the system promptly, handle payments, and provide change as needed.
  • Be proactive in offering assistance to guests before they need to ask.
  • Anticipate guests' needs by being attentive to their signals and acknowledging them promptly.
  • Foster relationships with guests by learning their names, preferences, and favorite drinks.
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service, recognizing signs of intoxication and addressing situations appropriately.
  • Complete the menu test by the end of training, with two opportunities to pass; failure may lead to termination.
Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Must be at least 21 years old.

Experience:
  • Prior bartending experience is required unless promoted from within.
  • Outgoing demeanor, positive attitude, and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment and leadership capabilities.
  • Thorough understanding of restaurant operations and service protocols.
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes is necessary.
  • Basic math skills and the ability to manage cash transactions are required.
  • Fluency in English is essential, with basic writing skills.
Management Responsibilities
  • May assist with inventory management and ordering processes.
  • Participate in training and occasionally assist in the interview process.
  • Help maintain an updated inventory of necessary supplies.
Independent Judgment

This position involves representing the company in addressing guest complaints and resolving issues. As a bartender at Georgia Blue, you will be expected to engage with guests to ensure their satisfaction, using creativity and initiative to address challenges before escalating to management.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to see at close and far distances.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and audibly.
  • Ability to identify and differentiate colors.
  • Frequent walking and occasional standing are required.
  • Ability to walk for extended periods, potentially up to 8 hours.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 25 lbs.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular use of manual dexterity and motor skills.
  • Ability to reach in various directions and kneel or stoop as needed.
  • Potential hazards include slipping and tripping.
Working Environment
  • Work may occur in indoor or outdoor settings.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions is expected.
  • Work may be conducted near moving mechanical parts.
  • May encounter toxic or caustic chemicals and airborne particles.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays, and extended hours as required by business needs.
Uniform Standards
  • Grey long-sleeve button-down shirt with a black vest, tucked in with a black belt, and black non-denim pants/slacks.
  • Server apron, black crew socks, and closed-toed black slip-resistant shoes are required.
  • Any undershirt must be short-sleeved and white.
  • No facial piercings are permitted.
  • Facial hair must be well-groomed.
  • Long hair must be pulled back and restrained.
