The Avionics Systems Specialist is responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, adjustment, and repair of avionics systems, including radar, communication, navigation, and instrumentation systems on aircraft.


Key Responsibilities:
• Diagnose, repair, and modify avionics, electrical, and instrumentation systems on aircraft.

• Resolve intricate issues by interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and other documentation.


• Utilize advanced testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, frequency counters, and multi-meters to conduct troubleshooting and operational assessments.

• Execute the removal, repair, installation, inspection, and operational verification of system components.

• Repair or replace components based on diagnostic results, adhering to blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.


• Conduct calibration, repair, and replacement of system components based on diagnostic outcomes, following established guidelines.


• Document maintenance activities in aircraft logs and provide mentorship and technical support to junior technicians during maintenance and modification tasks.

• Perform additional duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:
• Ability to obtain and maintain a suitable security clearance.

Note:
• U.S. Citizenship is required for clearance eligibility.

• Valid driver's license is mandatory.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of five (5) years of experience in aircraft avionics or electrical systems is necessary.

• Extensive knowledge and expertise in aircraft electrical and avionics systems are essential.

• Demonstrated proficiency in relevant maintenance manuals, publications, and specialized tools and testing equipment.

• Familiarity with the operational capabilities and limitations of electrical and avionics systems is required.

• Comprehensive understanding of corrosion detection, prevention, and treatment is necessary.

• Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English, with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Basic computer skills for data entry into maintenance and logistics databases are required.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.


• Frequent climbing, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, lifting, carrying, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level, with the ability to push or pull weights up to 70 pounds.

• Requires good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.

• Must possess close vision, including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing must be within normal range.

• May require the use of a respirator.


• Work conditions may vary from a standard shop environment to outdoor settings with exposure to extreme weather conditions.

• Potential exposure to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and materials as indicated on safety data sheets, while working around aircraft and machinery.• May encounter electrical shock hazards.

• Work locations include aircraft maintenance facilities and operational areas.
