Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA, Inc.) is seeking a highly skilled Translational Research Scientist III to join our team in the Immuno-Oncology Translational Research group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading lab-based translational research and discovery efforts to drive clinical development and maximize scientific and clinical impact.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Execute Experimental Plans: Develop and execute in vitro and ex vivo experiments to validate biological and therapeutic hypotheses derived from clinical biomarker data, real-world data, and other sources.
- Elucidate Mechanisms of Action: Elucidate mechanisms of action and resistance to enable in-depth understanding of fundamental disease biology, as well as experimentally validate novel therapeutic targets.
- Inform Pharmacodynamic Biomarker Strategies: Inform pharmacodynamic biomarker strategies for immunotherapies, tumor-targeted therapies, and combination therapies.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts: Collaborate with subject matter experts from across the firm to synthesize, integrate, and interpret experimental and computational findings to inform decision-making on key projects and programs.
- Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or Related Disciplines: Ph.D. in Immunology, Cancer Biology, or related disciplines. Alternatively, you hold a BS or MS degree in similar fields and a track record of scientific excellence and productivity.
- Deep Understanding of Cancer Immunology: Deep understanding of cancer immunology, oncogenic signaling pathways (RAS, PI3K), and translational drug development, as evidenced by first-author publications, patents, and past success in R&D.
- Expertise in Lab-Based Research: Expertise in independently leading lab-based research projects involving a wide repertoire of experimental techniques such as conventional/spectral flow cytometry, biochemistry, cell/molecular biology, in vivo pharmacology, immune function assays, single cell workflows, and spatial omics.
- Strong Communication Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented and adaptable, with excellent written/oral communication skills.
- Passion for Scientific Research: A passion for scientific research and drug development.
- Experience in NSCLC, SCLC, or CRC Disease Biology: Experience in NSCLC, SCLC, or CRC disease biology would be advantageous.
- Experience Developing and Validating Clinical Biomarker Assays: Experience developing and validating clinical biomarker assays and strategies would also be advantageous.
