Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and approachable Maintenance Technician to join our team at our newly established retirement community. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility, focusing on safety and maintenance standards.

The Maintenance Technician will oversee the daily operations of the physical plant, ensuring the building's structural integrity and addressing all maintenance-related concerns, including HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and appliance repairs. This position also involves managing preventative maintenance initiatives and responding to service requests efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Prioritize and complete service requests and repairs in a timely manner.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the property to maintain safety and aesthetics.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents promptly.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents and communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Collaborate with management to obtain cost-effective bids for maintenance projects.
  • Adhere to budgetary guidelines while managing maintenance expenses.
  • Order supplies and services following established procurement procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies.
  • Respond to emergencies within the community as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes and safety regulations.
  • Perform regular inspections and implement necessary corrective actions.

Qualifications:

  • A collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for serving the senior community.
  • At least 3 years of experience in property management or maintenance for senior living or large complexes.
  • Preferred educational background includes an associate degree or higher in a related field.
  • Strong customer service skills and a diverse technical maintenance skill set.
  • Proficiency in HVAC, electrical systems, drywall repair, plumbing, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Experience in commercial properties, apartment buildings, or senior living environments is advantageous.
