We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Assistant II to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a senior clinician, you will provide clinical and administrative support to physicians and surgeons, coordinating patient care and serving as a liaison between healthcare providers and patients.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate patient care by serving as a liaison between physicians, patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Support one or more physicians and surgeons, demonstrating a comfort level with high-volume practice(s)
- Mentor and train less experienced Medical Assistant and Clinical Assistant staff
- Assume responsibility for Medical Assistant schedules and travel to various sites as needed
- Perform clerical responsibilities, including sending and receiving patient medical records, obtaining lab/x-ray reports, and completing forms and requisitions
- Manage physician referrals from various sources, coordinating multidisciplinary appointments and ensuring proper transition of care
- Inventory, order, or restock medical supplies as applicable
- Provide set-up of examination rooms and instruments in accordance with proper sterilization techniques
- Maintain logging systems for refrigeration of medications, point-of-care testing, and sterilization processes
- High School Diploma/GED
- Completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course of study from an approved school
- 5+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a busy practice
