The Role:

We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee our product roadmap and related initiatives for our two primary offerings: a music game on Roblox and a web application focused on music AI. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product Owners and other essential internal stakeholders, including our CTO, General Manager, Senior Developers, and UX/UI Designers, to ensure that critical project milestones are achieved on schedule, within defined parameters, and in alignment with our strategic objectives.

Your responsibilities will include managing project deliverables, supervising Jira boards and tickets, and utilizing product metrics and user insights to refine our product strategies.

The ideal candidate will have experience in high-traffic consumer web applications, game development, or technology-driven roles. A strong technical background is essential for effective collaboration with Senior Software Engineers, Machine Learning Researchers, Game Developers, and Designers. Familiarity with AI and Machine Learning/Deep Learning concepts is advantageous. You should be exceptionally organized and thrive as the 'glue' that fosters communication and collaboration among teams to deliver outstanding products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Product Owners to establish project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Manage project timelines, ensuring milestones are met and the team remains on track.
  • Oversee Jira management, including board setup, progress tracking, and maintaining transparency in project status.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders (CTO, General Manager, Senior Developers, UX/UI Designer) to gather requirements and provide regular project updates.
  • Identify potential challenges and collaborate with the team to devise solutions that keep projects progressing.
  • Assist in prioritizing tasks and managing the product backlog.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team, ensuring alignment on project goals.
  • Monitor project performance using relevant tools and techniques, reporting on progress, risks, and issues to Product Owners and other stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous improvement by recommending and implementing enhancements to project management processes.

About You:

  • A strong interest in music, technology, gaming, and AI.
  • Experience leading digital projects in web, applications, consumer products, or gaming.
  • Proficient project management skills with a background in agile methodologies, particularly in a non-technical scrum master role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technical projects, collaborating closely with engineers, designers, artists, and technical product managers.
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools and a solid understanding of software development lifecycles.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of managing multiple stakeholders and driving projects to completion.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Experience in a startup setting is a plus, along with a passion for solving complex challenges and fostering innovative solutions.
  • High level of accountability, persistence, and the capability to work independently and remotely.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working on products that incorporate AI features and collaborating with ML teams to define and prioritize tasks.
  • Interest or experience in gaming and/or music, as our team comprises music enthusiasts, creatives, and gamers.
  • Being based in Brisbane is a bonus, but we welcome remote team members across Australia and internationally, with a preference for those in similar time zones.
