Patient Services Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Welcoming and guiding patients and visitors through our clinic, ensuring a positive and respectful experience.
- Accurately and efficiently checking in patients, capturing registration information, and collecting co-pays or fees.
- Providing patients with necessary forms, questionnaires, and information about our services.
- Directing patients to the appropriate care area and ensuring a smooth transition of care.
- Resolving non-clinical patient issues and providing backup and coverage as needed.
- Communicating effectively with patients, staff, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Business college, office skills training, or university-level education, or a combination of related medical clerical/receptionist experience and education to total four years.
- Experience in a related health clinic clerical position, preferably in a multicultural medical or social services setting.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Previous experience working with electronic medical records systems and data collection.
- Strong skills in insurance verification, data capture, and patient relations.
- Proven ability to learn job skills and provide patient services.
