Patient Accounts Coordinator – Full Time Remote

The Mindful Lemon, Inc. is seeking a skilled and empathetic Patient Accounts Coordinator who is eager to advance within our expanding practice.

Key Responsibilities:

The Patient Accounts Coordinator will report to the Billing Supervisor and Operations Manager, overseeing all aspects of revenue cycle management. Responsibilities include:

  • Submitting all claims electronically through TheraNest within one business day of service.
  • Collecting patient payments promptly, within one business day of service.
  • Reconciling bank payments and electronic remittance advices (ERAs) and posting to client accounts within two business days of receipt.
  • Managing electronic funds transfers (EFTs) by following up with payors on any discrepancies.
  • Conducting weekly reviews of overdue patient invoices and following up as necessary.
  • Monitoring insurance payments that are over 30 days past due and coordinating with collections as needed.
  • Addressing denied claims by editing and resubmitting as required, including direct communication with insurance companies.
  • Performing monthly eligibility checks for clients to verify insurance coverage and updating records accordingly.
  • Tracking utilization for Employee Assistance Program (EAP) clients during billing.
  • Informing patients of any changes to their copays or financial responsibilities.
  • Submitting claims to secondary insurance when applicable.
  • Responding to inquiries regarding patient accounts.
  • Reconciling patient accounts and conducting secondary benefits checks for new patients as necessary.
  • Confirming benefits with insurers and adjusting patient records based on actual claim payments.
  • Completing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in revenue cycle management.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in behavioral health billing.
  • Experience with TheraNest EHR is advantageous.
  • Spanish language proficiency is a plus.
  • The ability to work independently and effectively.

Work Schedule:

This position requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM PST.

Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $20, with opportunities for professional growth.
