Role Summary:

The Senior Procurement Specialist is accountable for implementing the purchasing and supply chain management strategies established by the Category Managers. This role involves close collaboration with clients, divisions, and Category Managers to ensure exceptional levels of customer service and satisfaction while maintaining a high standard of business ethics and integrity. The Senior Specialist possesses the authority to commit company resources and is responsible for identifying and resolving issues related to value, quality, feasibility, and specifications in the procurement of goods and services. This position contributes to cost savings, fosters partnerships with suppliers, and engages in other value-added activities to meet customer needs and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate purchase order conversions through decisive negotiations.
  • Oversee purchase order approvals up to $1,000,000.
  • Provide education on existing solutions and support the development of performance and technology tools.
  • Assist in resolving operational issues and invoice discrepancies.
  • Address complex challenges effectively.
  • Manage changes to purchase orders and assess the reasons for modifications.
  • Promote supplier integration and establish key performance indicators.
  • Drive value creation and lead savings initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various functions within the organization.
  • Develop bid and proposal formats.
  • Lead intricate requests for proposals (RFPs) and manage small projects.
  • Offer guidance and direction in primary areas of expertise.
  • Communicate with relevant departments to ensure the provision of necessary documentation for purchases.
  • Formulate and implement agreed purchasing strategies for the category.
  • Seek and cultivate business relationships with diverse suppliers.
  • Engage regularly with divisional clients and lead functions to guarantee superior customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPM certification is preferred.
  • 4-6 years of experience in Procurement.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional experience in Procurement, Category Management, or Project Management.
  • Financial expertise in areas such as Benchmarking, Spend Management, Savings Tracking, or Cost Analysis.
  • Analytical skills including GAP Analytics, Regression Analytics, Outlier Analytics, Scenario Planning, or Forward Modeling.
  • Experience with Supplier Selection, Supplier Relationship Management, Capability Matrices, or Contracting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.
