The role involves generating monthly and daily reports for the Public Information Office (PIO), including the Month Ahead Report, Week Ahead Report, and media logs, along with other necessary documentation. The selected candidate will collect data from PIOs, Project Managers, and Construction Managers to evaluate and compile significant occurrences, meetings, and project advancements into comprehensive Daily, Weekly, and Monthly reports for District Executives and senior management. Additionally, the candidate will manage the calendar of events and assist in organizing major ceremonies such as Ribbon Cuttings and Groundbreakings. Support will also be provided to District Public Information Officers in event coordination, including researching and analyzing potential materials for distribution through various social media platforms. This includes content such as maps, detour routes, traffic delays, and road closures. The role requires monitoring social media for inaccurate information and responding promptly to mitigate any potential impacts.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for this position may be determined by performance on the Associate Governmental Program Analyst / Staff Services Analyst examination. Candidates without current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and those new to state civil service employment must be on the state examination list to qualify for these roles.

The Human Resources department is available to address inquiries regarding the application process, while the Hiring Unit can provide information specific to the position.

Working Environment

This position may allow for telecommuting, with the extent of remote work determined by departmental discretion and current telework policies. While telework is supported, in-person attendance may be necessary based on operational requirements. Employees should be prepared to report to their worksite with minimal notice if urgent needs arise. The selected individual may also be required to travel for business purposes or commute to the headquarters location. Travel reimbursements will consider the employee's designated headquarters location and primary residence, adhering to applicable regulations and contract provisions. All commuting expenses to the headquarters will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.

Special Requirements

  • A valid driver's license is required for operating state-owned or leased vehicles.
  • Knowledge of procurement and contract management is essential.
  • Familiarity with state purchasing regulations is necessary.
  • Ability to maintain and utilize a Cal-Card is required.

Verification of Minimum Qualifications will occur prior to interviews or appointments. Candidates using education to establish eligibility must provide unofficial transcripts or diplomas for verification. Original or official sealed transcripts may be required upon appointment. Applicants with foreign transcripts or degrees must provide a U.S. equivalency evaluation report that indicates the number of units and the degree to which the foreign coursework is equivalent.
