Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to join our Research and Development team at Bayside Solutions, Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing procurement-related tasks, including sourcing activities, Request for Proposals (RFPs), and supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Process Management: Manage purchase orders, cross-functional collaboration, and lead supplier negotiations to ensure timely identification and procurement of materials.
  • Cost Reduction and Reporting: Support process improvements in cost reductions and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, resulting in measurement reporting and purchasing metrics.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Identify, resolve, and expedite issues to ensure timely identification and procurement of materials, and maintain database parameters working on a cross-functional basis to identify business needs.
  • Negotiation and Communication: Coordinate and negotiate favorable terms with suppliers to support cost, schedule, and performance requirements, and communicate at all levels to ensure proper purchasing and strategies are achieved.
  • Category and Sourcing Strategies: Develop category and sourcing strategies by identifying opportunity areas and effectively directing and leveraging procurement spend in assigned category areas.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: 5+ years of professional work experience plus a BS/BA; 3+ years of professional work experience plus an MA/MS or MBA in a corporate environment, preferably in procurement and supplier management.
  • Business Partner Relationships: Experience managing and maintaining strong business partner relationships.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Strong communication, negotiation, contract management, tact, judgment, and organization experience.
  • Procurement Knowledge: Working knowledge of RFPs and RFQs, and a proven track record of applying procurement principles, concepts, best practices, and standards.
  • Category Management: Able to develop category and sourcing strategies by identifying opportunity areas with a proven record of effectively directing and leveraging procurement spend in assigned category areas.
  • Procurement Systems: Knowledge and experience with procurement/spend systems data and analysis.
  • Project Management: Experience working with and leading multiple projects and teams simultaneously across a matrixed organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: BS/BA degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience: Coupa experience preferred.
  • Communication: Able to effectively communicate across all levels of the company.
  • Problem-Solving: Adept at problem-solving and multi-tasking in a fast-paced atmosphere.
  • Technical Skills: Strong Excel skills and strong interpersonal, communication, and vendor management skills.
  • Industry Experience: Experience working with R&D.
