We are seeking a Senior Research Scientist specializing in RWE/Epidemiology within our Population Science division. This role can be performed remotely or from our office.


The Population Science department, part of Regulatory Affairs, is dedicated to assessing the effects of tobacco product usage on public health to support regulatory and harm reduction initiatives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct real-world evidence (RWE) studies evaluating the health implications of smoke-free tobacco products to support harm reduction advocacy and regulatory submissions.
  • Develop comprehensive study plans and execute research to derive epidemiological insights from public surveys and internal data; lead literature reviews for regulatory purposes.
  • Access, analyze, and interpret extensive internal and external datasets using advanced statistical methods to uncover insights into tobacco consumer behaviors and perceptions; design and oversee behavioral research studies as necessary.
  • Contribute to the creation and application of computational models to evaluate the population health impact of new or existing tobacco products and identify trends in consumer behavior for regulatory discussions.
  • Synthesize research findings to draft scientific narratives for regulatory submissions and external communications, including peer-reviewed publications.
  • Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams and engage with both internal and external research partners.
  • Manage project priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Public Health, Data Analytics, Data Science, or related fields.
  • Over 8 years of relevant experience in public health, population studies, or large database analysis, with experience in an FDA regulatory context being advantageous.
  • Proven ability to develop statistical analysis plans and perform advanced statistical evaluations.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in handling substantial information.
  • Proficient in deconstructing complex problems, formulating solutions, and implementing them through advanced quantitative techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying findings.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team.
