Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Portfolio Manager with a strong background in Strategic Business Development, Account Management, and Client Relations. The ideal candidate will oversee client accounts, nurture and expand client relationships, and spearhead business development initiatives. This role requires excellent organizational abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to juggle multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a designated portfolio of accounts, ensuring revenue retention and growth targets are met or exceeded.
  • Enhance our Federal and DoD portfolio by engaging with key decision-makers and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities that align with Paragon's strategic growth vision.
  • Identify, qualify, and position new business opportunities within assigned accounts, presenting these to corporate leadership.
  • Conduct regular account reviews to ensure alignment with client goals and adjust strategies as necessary.
  • Provide leadership throughout the capture strategy development and post-submission phases.
  • Assist the proposal team with strategic insights based on gathered intelligence.
  • Understand customer requirements and competitor strengths/weaknesses to formulate winning strategies.
  • Research potential customers, competitors, and teaming partners to capture Government Contracts.
  • Document all capture information and track the status of opportunities throughout the Business Development lifecycle.
  • Apply knowledge of program management, federal procurement regulations, and the proposal development process.
  • Implement strategic plans on a daily basis, organizing work, setting priorities, and determining resource needs.
  • Monitor progress and evaluate outcomes to ensure objectives are met.
Qualifications

Experience: 5-10 years of relevant industry experience in business development.

Education: A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Candidates without a degree must have a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience.

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated success in previous capture efforts.
  • Five or more years of experience in portfolio and account management, client relations, and business development within government sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry practices, trends, and competitors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong presentation and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to coordinate activities across multiple internal business units.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with leadership to develop executable business development strategies.
  • Innovative mindset to translate ideas into actionable process improvements.
  • Willingness to attend local events and networking opportunities.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed for client engagements and industry events.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience in developing and implementing creative strategies for successful bids, including price-to-win analysis.
  • Familiarity with GSA Schedule contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Active Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
