Job Overview

JobsRUs is looking for a skilled Laboratory Technician to support our client in ensuring quality control in their operations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory analyses on both in-process and finished product samples to verify compliance with quality and purity standards.
  • Collect samples from various locations and transport them to the Central Analytical Lab.
  • Analyze results in a dynamic environment and report any discrepancies to the Operations team to maintain the production of compliant materials.
  • Review and interpret shift notes, integrating relevant laboratory findings.
  • Regularly check the functionality of equipment at Critical Control Points, necessitating frequent visits to the production area.
  • Facilitate clear communication with fellow technicians during shift changes to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the laboratory and manage inventory of product ingredients.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills to ensure proper collection, labeling, and matching of samples with their corresponding results.
  • Participate in cleaning procedures for the production line.

Essential Duties:
  • Adhere to all safety and environmental regulations relevant to the position.
  • Implement and uphold Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP standards.
  • Monitor compliance with safety, food safety, and environmental policies.
  • Perform all required laboratory tests in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct physical testing of production samples and verify lab instruments daily.
  • Record, interpret, and input test results into a computerized data system.
  • Maintain samples of tested products for confirmation of results when necessary.
  • Ensure adequate supplies for testing procedures and notify supervisors when reordering is needed.
  • Consistently compare test results with standards to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Handle various chemicals safely, following the guidelines outlined in the Safety Data Sheet.

Qualifications:
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English; basic arithmetic skills are required.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks while maintaining organization.
  • Willingness to learn and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
  • Engage actively in training sessions.
  • Maintain proper personal hygiene and present a professional demeanor.
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate's degree in an applied science is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an analytical laboratory is advantageous.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary, including familiarity with MS Office applications and other software used for laboratory instruments.
  • Commitment to safety and a zero-injury culture is essential.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, as well as lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
