Contract Duration: 06+ Months

Compensation: $21.80 per hour

Work Schedule: Rotating swing shifts, 8-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preparation of process and finished product samples; execute analytical evaluations utilizing both instrumental and wet chemistry methods, documenting outcomes through computerized data management systems.
  • Perform routine process monitoring assessments throughout the facility as designated.
  • Retain samples of analyzed products to verify testing results when necessary.
  • Record outcomes of all analytical procedures and promptly inform operations of any necessary modifications.
  • Input and report data using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of production processes essential for product creation and may provide recommendations to operators to enhance product quality.
  • Carry out minor maintenance and calibration on all laboratory equipment utilized by the company.
  • Maintain ongoing documentation of all testing results and input such data into the computer system daily.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of testing supplies and alert the supervisor when reordering is required.
  • Continuously compare equipment readouts with standard samples to ensure all systems function accurately.
  • Keep a tidy and organized workspace at all times, cleaning equipment as necessary and storing items properly.
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with colleagues.
  • Adhere to all relevant standards and guidelines set forth by regulatory bodies including FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and the employer.
  • Preferred: 2 or more years of experience with a science degree.
  • Exhibit sufficient computer proficiency to operate laboratory instrument software.
  • Familiarity with current commercial software applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Experience with standard laboratory equipment, including pH meters, balances, and spectrophotometers.
  • Demonstrate adequate mathematical skills to perform calculations related to laboratory testing.
  • Previous experience in a plant environment is advantageous.
  • Exhibit strong record-keeping abilities.
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
