Senior Construction Manager

The Senior Construction Manager will lead the Field Operations team and work in partnership with the Project Management team to deliver high-quality, on-schedule, and profitable projects. This role is key to fostering great client relations and developing our employees.
Key Responsibilities- Passionately build the team by attracting, interviewing, assessing, mentoring, and retaining top performers.
- Assist with developing career paths for Foremen, Superintendents, and General Superintendents, including training and career plans to advance internally.
- Provide on-site leadership for project teams, building and motivating team members to meet project goals and adhere to responsibilities and project milestones.
- Lead and enforce safety policies and procedures, addressing non-compliance among all employees, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Execute projects using the Quality Management System, recognizing potential patterns of rework and developing solutions to eliminate it.
- Perform or oversee fundamental project management practices, including construction progress tracking, progress and financial forecasting, document management, problem-solving, dispute resolution, design troubleshooting, and value engineering.
- Set, communicate, and enforce production goals and schedules with subcontractors.
- Lead the development of project schedules with the Project Manager and ensure the team is executing to the plan, developing a four-week lookahead schedule to facilitate daily progress and communicate it to all.
- Assist with labor strategies for the region, maintaining dialogue with union leaders to maximize efficiency and margin.
- Accurately develop the Four Week Look Ahead schedule weekly and adhere to the schedule.
- Work to beat project cost budgets, implementing effective cost controls over subcontractors, material, equipment, and other related expenditures.
- Train the Project Team on planning, surveying, plan reading, productivity, efficiency, economical crew size, quality workmanship, and safety to ensure projects are constructed expeditiously and profitably.
- Utilize daily huddles to promote communication, resolve issues, and share ideas, ensuring projects are constructed expeditiously and profitably.
- Review all Foremen's and Daily Reports, as well as Subcontractor's Daily Reports, for accurate hours, time coding, production quantities, and activity summaries.
- Know the key terms and conditions of the Prime Contract with the Owner, identifying and communicating deviations accordingly.
- Know the key operational details of the subcontract and hold subcontractors accountable to their agreement and the company's standards.
- 7+ years of relevant construction industry experience, with progressively greater responsibility.
- 7+ years overseeing self-perform work with several crews across various projects totaling 100 craft persons and equipment operators or more, prior experience as a Foreman and/or Master Electrical License a plus.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to lead a diverse group of individuals.
- Successfully led relatively complex construction projects with diverse scopes and aggressive schedules.
- Superb customer service skills.
- Robust knowledge of various areas of construction (electrical, earthwork, utilities, structures, mechanical, etc.).
- Expert knowledge of OSHA Safety regulations.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, leadership, people skills, and solid time management skills are a must.
- Working Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and scheduling software.
- Minimum of High School diploma or GED required.
