Job Overview

United Airlines is seeking a talented Cloud and Package Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Technology team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable technology solutions using innovative architectures, data analytics, and digital solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the business team to plan, design, develop, and launch various projects dealing with the latest Cloud and Package technologies.
  • Deliver across the entire app life cycle from concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support.
  • Possess a deep knowledge of AWS and 3rd party frameworks.
  • Deliver state-of-the-art Cloud and COTS experiences across different functions.
  • Understand back-end system/services to access when building out fronts for testing.
  • Ability to creatively architect and design programs to meet the goals and requirements of various projects.
  • Quickly integrate and update projects.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing project tasks on schedule and by interacting with other developers.
  • Provide technical insight on existing Cloud and COTS platforms to improve performance, availability, and utilization optimizations.
  • Perform research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform.
  • Evaluate, suggest, and implement third-party software as needed.
  • Make efficient use of source control and bug tracking systems.
  • Reviews estimates for software development and delivery to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
  • Partner with the Business and IT teams to test and iterate on developed software and programs.
  • Prepare projects for hand-off and deployments as 'proof concepts' move to production.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changes and learning from field testing.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related required.
  • 3+ years of experience in application design, development, installation, and modification of software required.
  • 1+ years of experience developing distributed systems using AWS.
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Ability to work with vendors and 3rd-party software providers for a full application solution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deliverables, both short and long-term, in a busy and aggressive environment required.
  • Must be self-motivated, possess strong communication skills, and be able to work in a team-oriented environment required.
  • Experience with distributed programming practices.
  • Experience with integration development for COTS applications.
  • Experience with Serverless (Fargate, Lambda), C#,.NET Core, JavaScript, React, REST, SQL Server, and NoSQL DBs (MySQL, Amazon DynamoDB).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification.
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position.
