NASA Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Developer to join our team at MRI Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing new cloud-native platform services spanning all three major cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing cloud-native platform services for NASA's deep space exploration missions
- Working with Managed Kubernetes offering across all three major cloud providers
- Integrating cloud managed AI and data services with other bespoke and open-source Kubernetes applications
- Developing best practices for cloud-native application development and promoting them within the organization
- Writing quality code and providing quality code reviews for peers
- Identifying opportunities to abstract prospective project requirements and develop enterprise-grade, multi-tenant platform services
- Collaborating with NASA human spaceflight missions like Orion, Lunar Gateway, and Mission Control
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent certification in a related area and 10 years of experience in the field or a related area
- Experience with Kubernetes in production
- Proficiency with Terraform (or equivalent) for infrastructure automation tooling
- Extensive Linux experience (familiarity with Windows also preferred, but not required)
- Expertise in at least one programming language (Go is preferred)
- Solution-oriented mindset and ability to thrive in a fully remote organization
- Self-motivated and self-managing, with strong organizational skills
- Ability to use GitLab (preferably very proficient)
- Experience architecting and building cloud-native applications
- Demonstrable success and confidence in owning the full project lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of progressive, native experience with a BS
- Experience with space mission operation software development
Essential Functions:
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time)
- Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements

- Professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation
- Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
Background Investigation:
- As a Federal Contractor, most positions require the employee to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government background investigation
