Piedmont is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare professionals in a fast-paced medical office setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
- Obtain and document patient medical and physical histories, as well as other relevant information in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Accurately record vital signs and perform non-complex office procedures, such as EKGs and spirometry.
- Assist healthcare professionals during treatment, examination, and testing of patients, including injections and immunizations.
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment areas, ensuring a clean and organized environment.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to distribute educational information and instructions for patient care, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Process prescription refill requests and communicate with patients regarding medication and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to identify and address patient concerns and needs.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is preferred.
- One year of experience in a medical office setting, with completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program, or two years of medical assistant or related clinical experience.
- BLS certification required.
- Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or a similarly recognized certifying organization is preferred.
