Job Summary

The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)/Behavior Technician (BT) is a key member of our team at Intensive Education Academy, Inc. This role is primarily responsible for providing direct care to individuals with behavioral needs. The RBT/BT will work closely with supervisory staff to ensure the consistent implementation of interventions outlined in behavior support plans (BSP). The ideal candidate will possess excellent public, employee, client, and agency relation skills, with the ability to take constructive criticism and make reliable decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement skill acquisition and behavior reduction plans consistently, adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Collect and maintain accurate data for all behavior programs, ensuring thorough documentation and record-keeping.
  • Provide direct support and consultation to supervising behaviorists, as needed, to ensure the highest quality client services.
  • Meet regularly with supervisory staff to discuss program changes, further training, and in-situ supervision.
  • Adjust interventions or methods as instructed by supervisors, maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of each intervention in place for every individual on their caseload.
  • Regularly review treatment plans for all individuals to ensure treatment integrity and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain all forms of documentation as directed by supervisory staff, including accurate and timely record-keeping.
  • Meet the requirements for RBT credentialing, including completing the certification within the first 6 months of employment.
  • Arrive on time to work, prepared to do all aspects of the job for the duration of the shift.
  • Ensure no personal contact with client families without prior approval from supervisors, except for parent training as part of session work for in-home services.
Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or national equivalent.
  • Completion of 40-hour training, based on the RBT Task List.
  • Ability to pass the RBT Competency Assessment within 6 months of hire, if necessary.
  • Excellent public, employee, client, and agency relation skills.
  • Ability to take constructive criticism on performance as given by supervisors.
  • History of making reliable decisions and effectively communicating with others.
