Key Responsibilities- Advocacy and Policy Development: Develop and implement science policy strategies to advance AACR's mission and priorities, including federal funding for cancer research, biomarker discovery, and clinical data sharing.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, scientists, and advocacy groups, to advance AACR's policy agenda.
- Policy Analysis and Research: Conduct in-depth analysis of science policy issues and develop evidence-based recommendations for policymakers and AACR leadership.
- Communication and Outreach: Develop and disseminate effective advocacy materials, including policy briefs, white papers, and social media content, to engage stakeholders and promote AACR's policy priorities.
- Committee Support: Provide administrative and technical support to AACR's Science Policy and Government Affairs Committee and its subcommittees.
- Education and Experience: PhD or advanced degree in a science-related field, with 3-5 years of experience in a public policy environment and general knowledge of the federal policy process.
- Skills and Qualifications: Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to analyze complex information and build evidence-based arguments, and high degree of judgment and problem-solving abilities.
