Job Summary

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) seeks a highly skilled and experienced Director of Regulatory Science and Policy to join our team in Washington, D.C. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on cancer research and policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and support for AACR's science and health policy activities, including developing and implementing policy initiatives and projects.
  • Monitor and analyze legislation related to cancer research and policy, and provide recommendations to AACR leadership.
  • Collaborate with AACR staff, members, and external partners to advance cancer research and policy goals.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, advocacy groups, and industry leaders.
  • Manage a team of employees and provide guidance and support to ensure successful project completion.
Requirements
  • PhD, M.D., or other doctoral degree in a science and/or regulatory science-related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in a science policy and/or regulatory science and policy-related environment.
  • Expertise in cancer research and biomedical science, as well as a strong understanding of science policy and regulatory science and policy.
  • Proven track record of implementing complex policy projects and achieving results.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • High degree of judgment and insight, with the ability to analyze complex policy issues and make informed recommendations.
