We prioritize delivering high-quality, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed support to those facing substance use and co-occurring disorders.

Role Summary

The Peer Recovery Support Specialist leverages their personal journey of recovery to cultivate meaningful and trusting connections with clients, serving as a mentor and role model. This position is vital in guiding individuals through their recovery process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate client arrivals and departures
  • Assist with transportation needs for clients
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive client care
  • Connect clients with community resources and support systems to enhance their recovery journey
  • Provide mentorship and serve as a recovery role model
  • Help clients identify their personal interests, goals, strengths, and areas for development in recovery
  • Deliver educational resources on recovery at various stages
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations
  • Encourage self-advocacy among clients
Qualifications:
  • Peer Support Certification
  • Current Adult CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Familiarity with addiction fundamentals and community resources (e.g., 12-step programs)
  • Strong interpersonal and engagement capabilities
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Commitment to the agency's mission and values, with sensitivity to cultural diversity
Essential Knowledge & Skills:

The candidate should possess or be willing to learn about:

  • The dynamics of behavioral health disorders and their effects on individuals
  • Social factors influencing behavioral health
  • Current evidence-based practices and their application to individuals with behavioral health disorders
  • Community resources available for individuals in need, including crisis response and person-centered planning
  • Effective clinical supervision techniques
