Job Summary

The Key Holder is responsible for maintaining common areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. This includes assisting the Manager in opening doors for residents, participating in the rotation of emergency pagers, and performing various tasks to ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the property.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • The Key Holder keeps common areas clean, orderly, and safe by performing tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and sweeping.
  • Assists the Manager in opening doors for residents and participates in the rotation of emergency pagers as applicable.
  • Picks up and empties trash and cleans dumpster areas.
  • Notifies the Community Manager of lease agreement violations by completing written incident reports and maintains a log book of events occurring during the shift.
  • Notifies the Manager of any emergencies and calls 911 if needed.
  • Locks and unlocks designated common areas and assists residents as needed.
  • Provides coverage for the Manager as requested and takes and relays messages and complaints.
  • Notifies the Community Manager concerning the need for repairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • 6 months related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.
