Position Summary

The Building Automation Project Leader will manage projects related to Building Automation Systems (BAS) and play a crucial role in the growth of the controls division. This role reports directly to the Director of Building Automation Systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Guide project teams to meet departmental and organizational goals, including financial targets.
  • Proactively resolve project challenges as they emerge.
  • Estimate and sell BAS construction projects and modifications.
  • Assist in identifying client requirements, focusing on energy and water efficiency, serviceability, and both short-term and long-term objectives for their BAS solutions.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients.
  • Oversee the acquisition of materials and workforce for BAS initiatives.
  • Calculate costs for materials, equipment, and labor for designated projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments and schedule work accordingly.
  • Engage in sales discussions with prospective clients as necessary.
  • Effectively manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Organize and participate in project meetings as needed.
  • Engage with relevant professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Building Automation Systems.
  • Experience with Automated Logic Controls, Tridium Niagara, and Distech Controls is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated time management abilities, allowing for effective handling of multiple client relationships and resource prioritization.
  • Hands-on experience with systems such as HVAC, electrical, building automation/controls, boilers, air conditioning, and/or chillers.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in energy management, building commissioning, and/or systems diagnostics/troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
