Job Summary

Carlex Glass Company is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the company's facilities and operations meet regulatory compliance and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular EHS inspections of facility operations to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Document inspections and follow up on corrective action items to ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage environmental permits related to air, water, and waste, including permit requirements, control measures, and reporting responsibilities.
  • Conduct ergonomic and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Assist in the development, deployment, and management of the Carlex Environmental, Health & Safety Management System (EHS-MS).
  • Provide training to team members on EHS policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and updating of written safety policies and procedures.
  • Support Regional or Plant EHS Managers with federal, state, and agency inspections.
Requirements
  • Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to listen to operators and effectively communicate solutions.
  • Ability to lead and direct others in complex tasks.
  • Willingness to uphold the Carlex Values of Safety, Customer Focused Teamwork.
