Atrium Health is seeking a Patient Accounts Coordinator to join our team in Patient Financial Services (PFS). The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of supervisors/managers, performing tasks of moderate to difficult complexity related to hospital or physician accounts.

Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year

  • The Patient Accounts Coordinator will be responsible for data analysis and interpretation throughout all functions of PFS, including analysis of aged accounts, remittances, and denials.">
  • The role requires evaluation, analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to resolve complex account issues.">
  • The Patient Accounts Coordinator will work with government payers and specialized accounts, analyzing and correcting coding guidelines, preparing accounts for appeal, and reviewing insurance credit balances.">
  • The successful candidate will also process electronic remittances, research bank deposits, and transfer charges between patient and facility accounts as required.">
  • In addition, the Patient Accounts Coordinator will escalate problem accounts, lead the appeal process, and receive, review, and take action on communications within the business office.">

Required Skills and Qualifications:

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with one year of experience in related financial services or healthcare business office. A college degree (bachelor's or associate) is preferred, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook is desired. Prior healthcare computer system experience, specifically Epic billing, is also preferred.
