Atrium Health seeks a skilled Patient Placement Coordinator to join our team. This role is responsible for proactively managing patient flow and inpatient beds across multiple Atrium Health Hospitals. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

About the Job

This is a full-time opportunity with a competitive salary of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. The Patient Placement Coordinator will be responsible for collaborating with coworkers in Patient Placement, as well as other departments and disciplines, to ensure timely bed assignments to the most appropriate level of care. The successful candidate will also serve as a clinical resource for Admission Transfer Coordinators and identify issues impacting or delaying patient throughput.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promptly assign beds in accordance with unit criteria and hospital policies
  • Create pre-admission accounts in Epic for direct admission patients while avoiding duplicate accounts
  • Navigate various applications, including Cerner and Epic, to assist with proper placement of patients
  • Coordinate bed cleaning priorities with Environmental Services
  • Communicate relevant information to coworkers and escalate placement issues to the team lead as necessary
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Licensed RN in the state of North Carolina
  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical office or hospital setting
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
