Job Description

As a Site Operations Manager at Genuine Parts Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Integrated Business Solutions (IBS) locations. Your primary responsibility will be to provide management assistance to the Site Manager, focusing on inventory protection, asset management, and operational issues. You will be responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of the site, stock room, and outside areas, as well as fostering a positive relationship between customers and staff through regular meetings and open discussions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate tracking of value-added items for customers.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with NAPA vendors to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
  • Respond promptly to customer purchase and service inquiries, providing exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Understand and interpret contract requirements, ensuring the operation meets customer expectations.
  • Work closely with the company and customer management teams to develop strategies for improving the overall value of the IBS program.
  • Source parts needs for customers by utilizing approved IBS vendors, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing inventory shrinkage.
  • Ensure proper processes and procedures are in place to maintain a safe work environment, including required hazmat training.
  • Bar code inventory and place items in designated bin locations, returning non-company excess inventory as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to handle daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation items according to policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Build relationships with non-company vendors to negotiate pricing, inventory, and service agreements.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical school or college degree a plus.
  • ASE certification within 12 months.
  • Ability to manage multiple people, prioritize tasks, and delegate to team members.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a focus on creating a high-performance team.
  • Personal drive, self-motivation, and initiative to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, remaining calm under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and customer fleet management software.


Work Environment

The Site Operations Manager will work in a fleet shop environment, exposed to loud noise, fumes, or airborne particles. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, talking, and hearing, as well as sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and crawling. The employee must be capable of lifting and moving product up to 60 pounds and moving engine blocks, core barrels, and other heavy equipment with moving aids.
