Job Title: Community Navigator

Key Responsibilities:
  • Relationship Building (50%): Conduct door-to-door outreach, house meetings, and distribute materials to engage families in the Mayfair and Poco Way neighborhoods. Establish and sustain meaningful relationships with residents, with a focus on assigned neighborhood sections. Plan and coordinate community events that foster connection and strengthen relationships among neighbors.
  • Community Organizing (20%): Identify, recruit, and train neighborhood leaders to take active roles in advocating for solutions to end poverty within their communities. Mobilize community members to participate in activities that build community power, such as voting, attending local meetings, advocating for policy change, participating in community clean-ups, and supporting initiatives focused on housing and economic development.
  • Resource Sharing (20%): Conduct intake processes, ensuring accurate and timely data reporting. Make and track program referrals to Amigos de Guadalupe, organizations within the Si Se Puede Collective, or external agencies. Assist families in completing forms and provide translation/interpretation services as needed. Maintain and manage a neighborhood texting group to share vital resources, opportunities, and information with families.
  • Other (10%): Attend partner meetings, conferences, workshops, and training sessions to further organizational goals and stay updated on local resources. Assist in meeting program goals and completing other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • In-depth knowledge of the Mayfair neighborhood, gained through current or prior experience living or working in the community.
  • Community organizer or knowledge of community organizing, a plus.
  • Strong commitment to the mission of Amigos de Guadalupe and the Si Se Puede Collective.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, foster trust, and mobilize families within a community.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
