Primoris USA is in search of a Site Material Coordinator to oversee operations at a project location. This position will work in close collaboration with various teams to facilitate all material management tasks and site inventory oversight. Under the guidance of the Logistics Manager, the Site Material Coordinator will liaise with site buyers, construction teams, vendors, and owner representatives to address material needs across multiple disciplines and ensure the timely availability of essential materials to support the construction timeline.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of Primoris' Procurement and Material Management protocols. Act as the primary contact between the site team and the Procurement department regarding material issues.
- Manage all global and domestic logistics for materials to the project site. Coordinate with shippers to confirm delivery schedules that align with construction timelines.
- Engage with vendors, suppliers, and the construction team regarding delivery timelines and any material-related concerns.
- Achieve proficiency in various aspects of the Procurement module, including Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Purchase Contracts, Owner Supplied items, Receiving, and Reporting.
- Assist in the creation, processing, and collection of necessary documentation for Material Receiving Reports, delivery forecasts, material inventory lists, and Warranty Claims.
- Provide support to Field Engineers and Project Administrative Assistants in the management and organization of shipping documentation.
- Compile and distribute daily receiving and inventory reports to the project team. Update the material tracker on a daily basis and share with the team.
- Collaborate with Safety, Compliance, and Quality teams to support construction efforts on the project site.
- Foster and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and the site team to enhance the company's reputation. Assist the site management team in promoting company values and culture while representing the organization professionally.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Site Material Coordinators are expected to relocate to the project site for the duration of each assigned construction project (project duration averages 6-9 months).
- Associate's degree in Material Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, material tracking, and auditing is essential.
- Previous experience in inventory management on industrial or commercial construction projects is advantageous.
- Familiarity with relevant inventory software is preferred.
- Understanding of Procurement and Material Management processes is required.
- A valid driver's license and a clean motor vehicle driving record (MVR) are necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required; proficiency in Visio is strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to groups of 10 or more.
- Willingness to work at the project site for the duration of the project, including 50-60 hours per week.
- OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
