Mechanical Process Engineer

The Mechanical Process Engineer is a key member of our team, responsible for developing and implementing production processes and procedures for high-complexity assemblies. This role requires a hands-on, versatile engineer who can work closely with our Production, Quality, and Product teams to deliver great results.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement processes and procedures for high-complexity assemblies to meet customer requirements.
- Design and develop tools, jigs, and fixtures for electro-mechanical assembly processes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and lead efforts to optimize equipment utilization.
- Lead root cause and corrective actions for defects, yield improvement, and escapes.
- Continuously improve tooling design guidelines and reuse libraries.
- Lead the validation and verification of new production tooling and fixturing.
- Ensure all equipment has optimal preventative maintenance defined and establish new procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and work with internal and external support to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Collect, analyze, and drive action from manufacturing data.
- Utilize Design of Experiments to establish new processes and drive improvements to existing.
- Engineering Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related discipline.
- Customer service-oriented with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Hands-on knowledge of SMT & Through-Hole Soldering, Component Prep, Automated Inspection Systems, Wash & Cleanliness, Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Coating/Staking/Bonding, etc.
- High proficiency in part constraints, dimensioning, tolerancing, and GD&T.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing tools and fixtures.
- 3D Print Experience.
- Demonstrated experience selecting and qualifying new automated/capital equipment.
- Practical knowledge of equipment and process qualification using IQ, OQ, PQ, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience setting up and executing DOE's.
- Deep understanding of SPC and manufacturing data analysis.
- Strong understanding of material science as it relates to material selection, solder, flux, adhesives, etc.
- Experience in an ISO9001 / AS9100 / ISO13485 certified quality management system.
- Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7721, IPC-A-600, and/or ANSI/ESD S20.20.
- Proficiency in business systems such as MES, PLM, ERP, MRB.
Up to $90,000 per year, depending on skills and experience.
